Build around one clear win condition
- Use the massive front ram as the build's defining module so your fortress has a clear attack angle.
- Take speed, melee-damage, and stun effects when they appear; those effects are documented as the core of a ram-focused combination.
- Unlock modules, vehicles, captains, and artifacts between runs, while using the upgrades offered during each run to reinforce the plan.
- Favor artifacts that reinforce melee or speed for this setup instead of scattering choices across unrelated damage themes.
Pilot the ram in five moves
- Consume weaker troops, animals, and villages first so the fortress collects resources and begins to grow before major fights.
- Commit the available run upgrades to ram speed, melee damage, and stun rather than building several incomplete themes.
- Begin turning early, because the fortress has real weight and needs time to put its front ram on the chosen approach line.
- Dodge incoming attacks, manage boost and active abilities, then drive the ram into the enemy fortress to knock it across the map.
- Leave a gap between boosts: hotfix 0.9.8 starts nitro regeneration half a second after boost use.
Tradeoffs and supported pivots
A ram build asks you to control a slow-turning fortress at close range, where a larger enemy castle can destroy you. Captain effects can add another risk: some trade worse steering for much higher damage, while others heal on consumption or accelerate the entire game.
If close approaches become unsafe, change the weapon role rather than forcing the ram: side cannons reward broadside positioning, mines cover the route behind you, mortars work at range, and barracks deploy soldiers.
The broader modular arsenal also includes wizard-staffed arcane towers and explosives, so later runs can pivot into magic or explosive effects when those choices align better.
